Maribiliz Irizarry, AU.D.
Audiology
Dr. Irizarry is a licensed audiologist in the state of Florida and a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a major in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico in Aguadilla and a Doctorate degree in Audiology from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus (Suma Cum Laude).
As part of her training, Dr. Irizarry practiced in different clinical settings, such as hospitals, ENT practices, and audiology private practices. During her residency in Labyrinth Audiology, Boca Raton, Florida, she was trained to evaluate and treat sound disorders such as tinnitus and hyperacusis. As a doctoral student, Dr. Irizarry was distinguished for her leadership, advocacy, and empathetic character. She was elected as Member at Large for the Student Academy of Audiology Board of Directors, where she served as the Humanitarian Committee chair for two terms. Additionally, she was one of two audiology students selected nationwide to complete an internship in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in 2018. Upon her graduation, she was recognized with the “Leadership Award” for her notorious efforts in the profession and the community. Dr. Irizarry has a strong interest in balance systems, research, tinnitus, and hearing conservation.
At SFENTA, Dr. Irizarry performs vestibular evaluations, electrophysiology testing (ABRs, ECochGs), comprehensive audiologic evaluations, hearing aid fitting and dispensing, and tinnitus sound therapy.
