Cauterization is a routine surgical procedure. It heats the body’s tissues using electricity in order to stop bleeding, remove abnormal growths and prevent an infection.
How to prepare for cauterization
You will need to stop taking blood-thinning medications (including aspirin, ibuprofen, and warfarin) several days before your cauterization. In addition, your doctor will likely ask you to stop eating and drinking at midnight the night before surgery.
