What to Expect After Surgery

You will need to rest your voice completely for at least three days after surgery. That means no singing, speaking, whispering, or clearing your throat.

Throat dryness after voice surgery is very common. To combat this side effect, stay hydrated with at least eight glasses of water a day.

Breathe in steam

Take a hot shower or inhale the steam from a bowl of hot water for several minutes to moisten your airway and relieve any discomfort.
