Provider Biography
Dr. Jay Young is board certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He graduated from Tulane University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. From there, he earned a full-tuition scholarship to the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Dr. Young then completed his internship and residency in otolaryngology at the prestigious Vanderbilt University Medical Center. This residency program is generally regarded as one of the best and the department is ranked in the top ten in the country by US News. While there he trained with some of the national leaders in all avenues of otolaryngology. He also earned one of the highest scores in the country on the training examination, scoring in the 9th stanine.
Dr. Young specializes in hearing/balance disorders, minimally invasive sinus/skull base surgery, facial plastic/reconstructive procedures, nasal airway obstruction, voice/throat disorders, chronic cough, otolaryngic allergies, and more. He has published papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented his work at national conferences. Dr. Young has also published invited reviews of the middle ear implants and is one of a limited number of providers trained to implant one of the latest. A true teacher at heart, Dr. Young is also actively involved in the education of medical students and residents.
