Dr. Zaki enjoys diagnosing and treating the entire spectrum of adult and pediatric ear, nose, and throat issues. He has a special interest in treating patients with head and neck cancer, thyroid/parathyroid disease, chronic sinusitis, nasal obstruction, and ear/hearing disorders. He is specifically passionate about treating patients with obstructive sleep apnea who cannot tolerate CPAP using the Inspire Upper Airway Stimulator surgery. He is dedicated to treating his patients like his own family.

Provider Biography

Born in Egypt, Dr. Michael Zaki immigrated to the United States when he was 15. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Riverside in Neuroscience and graduated with cum laude honors. He then completed his medical school at the prestigious David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He then completed his internship, residency, and chief residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.

Throughout his medical career, Dr. Zaki has won numerous awards and honors. In medical school, he was awarded the Ernst A Noltmann award for excellence in clinical service and the Medical Scholars Scholarship for excellence in research. He continued this success in residency where he received the highest In-service score award and he was nominated to the Golden Apple Teaching Award each year of his training, for excellence in teaching.

Dr. Zaki also has a passion for teaching and research. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He has several peer-reviewed scientific publications and has contributed to two book chapters in addition to the numerous presentations and posters at national meetings.

In his free time, Dr. Zaki has numerous interests that he actively pursues. He enjoys running especially on the beach, experiencing diverse cultures like a local, and cooking delicious yet healthy meals.

Dr. Zaki is a native Arabic speaker, learned English as a second language, and is currently working on his Spanish.
